Alphawave #3: GROWTH & Tatsumi Ryusui

Doors: 19:30
Start time: 20:00

The January alphawave session is devoted to sounds and noises that “see through” the ambiguity of reality and lead to a new form of consciousness. This time we will host the mysterious sound connections of GROWTH and Tatsumi Ryusui.

GROWTH is a forest of ambiguities. On a given occasion, GROWTH approaches a condition of movement and development which may be too slow and too subtle to consciously experience. On another given occasion, GROWTH explores the seemingly random organic processes and relations which result in that condition. On a third given occasion it may be quite hard to tell the difference. It is an inward gaze, a state of being, and a largely improvised performance by the hands of Berlin based non-musician Lars Ennsen which may be classified in terms of minimal, ambient, and drone.

Tatsumi Ryusui is a Japanese-born, Berlin based experimental/noise/ambient sound artist. He processes several proper, accidental or self-build instruments to generate delicate, yet powerful and astonishing ambient textures that connect drone with the cathartic side of noise.

In this occasion, Tatsumi will present a special A/V performance with videos from Saiko Ryusui.
