Video by Gil Delindro: The Grain Within This Cloud Of Dust:  A journey into the perishing of death

Gil Delindro works mostly with raw elements and analog self built processes, creating a very physical, direct and strong sound work that embraces both a concrete and unique imaginary land.

a.melodie composes with frequencies she gets out of plants through the use of self-built synthesizers.

Their sound evolves from minimalism to noise drone. Through the use of technology, they put sounds where they cannot put words, in their interaction with elements. Delindro and a.melodie are unarguably inspired by nature. They perform it, they allow themselves to be performed by it, they’re a part of it, they hope it all comes together. Now, we could say their approach is a take on the common anthropocentric approach to nature. That their work promote the complex interconnectivity between all elements, and ultimately present Nature as a sentient being with inherent worth. It would be just as true as saying that they play music.

The Grain Within This Cloud Of Dust: A journey into the perish of death
And thus, when the beings set suspended above the fall, suddenly it became clear - there is no end in the line, it meshes and unfolds, floats into the far away limits of this dimension. The will has vanished, the goal has never belong to the being, the matter arises clean but violent! To have blind confidence and allow softly to be overthrown, conquering fear, ego and time.  Everything is real, affects, manipulates and exists with density. The tiniest of the stones becomes a wave that enters, penetrates, vibrates in and throughout all that is, was and will be.

After a two month residency in the Sahara Desert, as part of The Weight of Mountains program, Gil Delindro presents the first impressions on a new developing work. The Grain Within This Cloud Of Dust: A journey into the perish of death, is a continuous audiovisual set which explores a timeless land where one falls and vanishes.h The Sahara is the grave of an ancient ocean, as if a gigantic life force would calmly await for its allowance in heaven. Fed by this concept of death in nature, and the vast arid landscape, this piece is a perpetual synesthetic experience, based upon field recording practices.
