Sound art night with C-drík (Belgium/Congo, DR), Elsa M'bala (Cameroon/Germany), Yan Jun (China)

Yan Chun is a sound artist and poet and was born in Lanzhou in 1973. He is based in Beijing and currently lives in Berlin for an artist residency (DaaD). He is working on improvised and experimental sound art, field recording, organizing and writing. Alongside of at venues, he goes to audience’s home to play with the environment and what else available in the room (Living Room Tour project) and does noise hypnotizing at any place for small amount of audiences. He is also amplifying body movements or other performative elements in a simple manner. He is a member of FEN, Tea Rockers Quintet and Impro Committee and founder of the guerrilla label Sub Jam.

C-drík
is an electronic, electro-acoustic artist and lecturer from Belgium and the DR Congo and active in the noise and industrial scenes since 1989. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Mons, Belgium and is behind Syrphe, a platform mostly dedicated to exploring electronic, experimental and noise from Asia and Africa. After writing several essay about Asian and African electronic and experimental music, together with Sociologist and musician Dimitri della Faille he published in 2016 a book called Not Your World Music: Noise In South East Asia.

Elsa M'bala
is living between Yaoundé and Berlin, she explores electronic sound, field recording and radio works.
