:::::: LED MAPPATHON ™ ::::::

Mappathon™ is inspired by events called hackathons where computer programmers, graphic designers, interface designers and project managers collaborate intensively on software projects in a limited time. It teaches the latest projection mapping technology and techniques to students, enabling them to create a site-specific interactive or static projection mapping installation.

LED Mappathon™ teaches the basic knowledge of projection mapping technique to control LED lights installations. The course has three learning stages: Making animation from static images and mixing video contents to control LED lights, how to set up hardware to control LED lights, basic LED light setup and installation. The outcome of projects can include media installations, interactive objects, and light performances.

{ Schedule }

{ Day 1 } LED Mapping: Basic knowledge of LED lights (Analog and Digital LED lights). The principles of LED Mapping with MadMapper (DMX / Artnet). Control LED lights with Modul8, real-time animation.

{ Day 2 } Vezer: Introducing Vezer, timeline. LED Mapping with Music.

{ Day 3 } Making Geometric LED Light Installation: Making geometric structure with black straw. Designing a simple geometric LED light installation controlled by real-time video and timeline.

{ Requirements }

No pre-knowledge of video art is required. Technology oriented and committed students are preferred.

The minimum Operating System required to run MadMapper version 2.5 is macOS 10.8.
- A 16 gig of RAM is highly recommended minimum a 8 gig of RAM.
- A MacBook Air is not recommended.
