Some notes
We’re just reading today about the news that the full text of the TransPacific Partnership (TPP) was made available, long after much of it was leaked to the public by orgs like Wikileaks ! It’s a nauseating and criminal power grab, of course we knew that already. Under such plans, you are just an eXTra in the really shitty B-movie made by scumbags. The world becomes a sinister marketplace laboratory, where no one knows the results, nor gives a flying fuck.
But more important, what is the people’s wildest wishlist !? This is the crazy dream of demented corporate pigdom,… but when are we gonna make our demands ? Instead of constantly playing defense, constantly sticking our fingers in the damn to prevent the flood and swill of the idiots, and constantly fighting for damage control. Are we just gonna ask for some vague “democracy” ?
In C-KiNO #47, we’re going to play a game. We’re going to compile a list of the impossible things WE WANT NOW ! If we’re going to be treated like Guinea Pigs, we might as well go WHOLE HOG ! … and think tactical … in implementing the sceanerios we’d rather live in outside the walls of the neo-liberal fantasy wasteland ! … More Coming Soon !
About C-KiNO
C-KiNO events are a hybrid of film, internet, theater, hacker culture, art happening and public forum. Each program is an interactive and tactical media performance, a live multi-dimensional cinema with co-curated screenings at its core. This is an ongoing series presented once-a-month at various venues, with the goal of planting a new “open-source” media platform to utilize a/v media materials with a passionate desire ( and urgency ) to upgrade community + collective intelligence in dangerously precarious times.
For the last 5 years, C-KINO (mostly based in Berlin) has been exploring new routes in media education, and working extensively with the genre of expanded or live cinema. But our techniques are less about the film arts and more about navigating a new community media communications which encourages a public re-embodiment of information, as opposed to passive downloads, cubicle-ized culture and spectacle/entertainment forms.
