“電気神楽 - (Electro KAGURA)” is our unit’s name. 神楽 - (Kagura) is ritual dance for Japanese religion. We’re aimed at floating into Form and Classic and find a new tidal current. Both based in Berlin, the Japanese dancer Ichi Go and the French composer AXL OTL meet again artistically and personally for a tribute to this glorious and nontangible instant, when cultures and periods amalgamate naturally without any clash, proving again and again, because we have to repeat it without respite, that difference is harmonious.
Ichi Go (1983, Japan) started Modern Dance in California in 1986, followed by Modern Dance in Kamakura, Japan in 1989. A selection of her work:

Her main piece for this night also combines "Beethoven symphony No.7 2nd movement". This deep and dramatic symphony always gives me energy. I want to search the Darkness and Brightness within our human bodies. Like a mirror.
Fusing AXL OTL’s unique mix of influences has been like putting a puzzle together using parts from different sets, but after some clean cuts and the forging of some new pieces to fill the gaps, a unique picture has emerged. Light but deep, complex and accessible AXL OTL’s sound is conceptual, mythic and narrative.
Pavero is a description of a couple of gigantic white whales emerging from the skyline of a modern city and flying with grace and harmony high in the sky. A mesmerizing scenery inspired by a scene coming from the surreaslistic graphic novel by Taiyo Matsumoto (松本大洋): Brothers of Japan (日本の兄弟) The name Pavero is a mix between Pavane and Bolero, respectively pieces from Gustave Fauré and Maurice Ravel, composers of the turn of the 20th century. By the choice of its instruments, timbres and harmony, this track reconnects with the Belle Epoque, the time of Japonism which influenced greatly western artists, and the time where all forms of arts were to converge and come back to the essence of nature in its form and concepts, as a reaction to the industrial revolution. Still an obvious necessity for the modern artist who tries to maintain a meaningful bond between human, nature and technology. Just let those White Whales fly in the blue sky if they feel like it, they are beautiful.
