HEKATE Collective video screening - curated by CORPO 6
With: Fabio Campagna / Laure Catugier / Tim van den Oudenhoven / Sabine Mittermeier / Alejandro Moncada
HEKATE is a collective video screening which reflects about the inner obscure structure of cinema. An intense journey following the actual idea within the visual and sound narrative of the media.
The reference is the ancient three faces Greek goddesses of the night, magic and crossroads. And it reminds of the interrelations between the body, the physicality of the space and their intimate sound.
A liminal access. A matter of discovery. A new gnosis.
The eternal feminine presents itself as a direct access to the reality through the concept of duration and staticity. Contemplation as an analogical adherence.
Silence as a platform to objectify unpredictable subjects. Noise as the internal language of things. Harmony as the ultimate form.

ATLAS, Laure Catugier. Video, sound, 8’06’’, 2013. Cariatids and Atlantians agonize to ensure their role which is keeping a certain stability.
NOCTURNE, Tim van den Oudenhoven. Video, sound, 2’ 31’’, 2016. NOCTURNE is an exploration of the Machinery of Night, a stream of consciousness trapped in a maze of repetition. This routine could be comforting, but the restless body is reluctant to accept it - it gets bored and tries to move on, only to realize a new repetition will ultimately lead to another escape.
O.T. (Leicht und Schwer), Sabine Mittermeier . Video, Sound, 2010, 11’ 45’’.
Video, sound, 10’, 2015. This video/photograph shows an anonymous high-rise and one protagonist stuck in her loop, using the theme of Unheimlichkeit to create a familiar, yet estranged experience. The children playing in the background do not make an impression on the protagonist’s obligation to fulfil her action. The loop itself lasts 8 hours, the length of a normal working day.
CIRCA, Alejandro Moncada. Film 16mm, transfer video, 8 min. 2005. The film is constructed as a riddle, which follows two characters in a strange ritual, in an indefinite time, Circa goes around the border between contemplation and action.
DEADALE, Laure Catugier. Video, sound, 4’17’’, 2014. Powerless silhouettes in the face of Dedale in which they are imprisoned.
-1+1=0, Fabio Campagna. Sound exp film, video, sound, 41’42’’, 2015-2016. Music by La Muerte Roja. -1+1=0 closes a trilogy about Berlin. A personal diary through the eterotopic, free interstices of Berlin in the attempt to present the nude factual - the unpredictability of reality. My body is tracing a route trough the city. Through its autonomous, dirty, peripheral zones. An ideal map of the liminal spaces of Berlin. An empty run- down plattenbau in Prenzlauerberg, totally covered in graffiti. Manifestations. Open airs and festivals. Non authorized urban video installations, as the main practice of CORPO 6. A route that folds on itself defining a figure. A circle.
An archetype emerges in the simplest of things. A communal sphere. A sharing, an harmonic unity. A community of imagination and desire. Resembling the idea of the Mediterranean - medio terrae, the sea, core of our civilization that unifies the opposites, the North and the South, the Ovest and the East - . A symbol of Berlin and ultimately of our contemporary condition. The convergence of the antinomic edges of reality into one single, organic, shape. A sacred uterus that unifies, combining opposites into the centrality of symmetry. The relation and the equation between opposites is finally exposed - as the livid fundamental truth. The city reflects upon itself and creates a vacuum that defies contradictions and promote the inclusion of the different.
artists
Fabio Campagna (Foggia, Italy, 1972) is a visual artist, musician, art historian, independent critic and curator. He lives and works between Berlin, Hudson, New York and Rome. His visual and musical outputs are hieratic and dissonant. Where the archetypal configuration of his personal - cultural, political and simbolic - identity defines his semiotic research. Trying to configure a communal gnosis. CoFounder of LA54 Berlin cultural association in Landsberger Allee 54, 2010 and founder of CORPO 6, 2012. He has codirected in Berlin 91mQ art project space gallery and temporary KHQ gallery.
Laure Catugier (1982, Toulouse, France) uses poetry and irony to reinterpret codes of architecture. By employing the caricature of the architect as the «Master of All» she questions the legitimacy of our artifacts, accomplishing this by going towards a disequilibrium and an attempt of dis-measure, to sabotage. She brings an interdisciplinary approach to her work that spans the areas of photography, video, and installation art. Her framing style is inspired by commonly seen from the field of architecture: top and elevation view, axonometric or isometric projection, etc, that are plain and unadorned.
Tim van den Oudenhoven (1983). Photographer, performer and video artist based in Berlin.
Sabine Mittermeier. Photographer and video artist based in Berlin.
Alejandro Moncada Mexico, 1974 Holds an MFA from Le Fresnoy Studio National des Arts Contemporains in France. He has exhibited in Mexico, France, Italy, Austria, Russia, South Africa and Germany. He works with installation, video and increasingly with sculpture. He is based between Berlin and México.
CORPO 6, an art project by Fabio Campagna, focuses since 2012, through a series of crossing media and site specific international artists projects, on the examination of functioning of identity topics, as such as of the concept of limen (border in Latin), within the articulation of the city. CORPO 6 GALERIE, after 3 years (2012 -2014) in Herzbergstrasse 55, Lichtenberg – area objectified as an elementargedanken (A. Bastian)- the zone of transmutations – has been started a nomadic gnosis troughout Berlin.
