Jasper Fung - Transient spikes
Transient spikes is a live sound performance using Transducer as an object to generate sound from a feedback loop. Transducers are connected to hacked electronics to create audio spikes with amplifying the mixer’s internal electrical signals. These spikes are visualized by the transducer’s jumping movements and turn them into live sound objects.

Martin Rodriguez - Radio Therapy
The fog of chemo and numbness of radiation. The brain surgery. Paralysis. The seizure that exposed it all. The sterile sounds of the hospital. One must find a way to heal. "Radio Therapy" expresses these sentiments by transforming the brutal sounds of Rodriguez's MRI into a meditation on the healing process of his recovery from a cancerous brain tumor, creating both a soothing and battling ambiance of recovery & remission.

Radio Therapy, inspired by Rodriguez’s rehabilitation process after an awake brain surgery to remove a cancerous tumor which temporarily left him with partial paralysis of the left side of his body, is an acousmatic composition produced by harnessing radio frequencies through a transducer that is attached to a standalone guitar. The transducer forced the whole body of the prepared guitar to vibrate. The resulting sound is a blend of sounds and scanned AM radio frequencies resonating and passing through a chain of manipulated sound effects. This experiment was an attempt to discover a new way of using the guitar without his left hand.

Jasper Fung, artist from Hong Kong and currently based in Aalborg, Denmark. His work intertwines installation and sound performance that arouse introspection into today’s discourteous and coarse world alongside the rapid elimination of social interactiveness. Fung’s installation works explore the terrain over sound & space and the multi-mediality of sound while his performance manipulates circuit bending in the context of electroacoustic composition.

Martín Rodriguez’s artistic explorations are rooted in his colorful experiences coming from a Polish-Mexican-American home. Influenced by environmental sounds, he draws a connection between the instinctive sonic communication that occurs in nature with how human beings harness sound for their means of expression in order to create sonic environments which live, listen, and engage in the present.
