John Bartley Cooper - Gemischte Gespräche
The concept of ‘Gemischte Gespräche’ is focused on those whose voices are often too quiet. Experimenting with various classical instruments, electronic sounds and effects, the compositions and improvisations by John Bartley Cooper give these voices their own space.

AA..LL (Berlin) will perform her AV piece "the space between yes and no" for the first time. She creates experimental sound collages with analogue electronics, modular synth and field recordings on tapes - responding to the movement of body and mind whilst building a connection to human transitoriness.

"My interest in sound was always very physical. Feeling it, getting deep into single layers and travel with it. I started with self built electronics and focused on simple rhythms, repetitions and pure oscillations. Dealing with ´mistakes`and researching the ways of perception lead me to a world of deep vibrant movements."

John Bartley Cooper grew up listening to and playing mainly classical (European) music and went on to study classical guitar at Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin. Soon after, he began experimenting with the production of electronic music to explore the possibilities beyond European traditions. One of his main goals is to connect the awareness of social issues with the infinite possibilties of music. www.johncoopermusic.com
