VAISSEAUX - AV performance by Annabelle Playe & Marc Siffert
VAISSEAUX questions what is moving ourselves within and beyond, towards the informal and the unseen. Live broadcasting of sound and images drives the audience to a geographic and sidereal inner journey. Both artists, inserted into projections, will play live until the image vanishes, the masses of sound strip of, taking back to the end of the journey, ic et nun. in its singular meaning, VAISSEAUX refers to the organic body so far as the vehicle for human psyche, which dares experience and sensation as a support to transformation. images of sea and port areas are weaving the audience’s video odyssey.
Annabelle Playe is a multidisciplinary artist, both a composer, a singer and an author. Depending on the project she is carrying out she enjoys exploring voice, sound, video and writing. In parallel with her training as a singer, she studied composition with Sergio Ortega in Pantin, Paris. She composed and played electro acoustics in Le loup et la Lune, Tree Dance (Les Bernardines - Marseille, France 2000), as well as in Circumambulation (3bisf - Aix-en-Provence, France 2002). Throughout her career as a composer, she collaborated with several artists like Gérard Siracusa, Richard Dubelski, Jean-Marc Montera and Jacques Diennet.
Marc Siffert is a designer of real-time sound spatializing devices and works on iconoclastic and subversive spectral explosion. Unwaveringly maintaining his integrity, he goes far beyond the questions of style to promote intention.
