MimiCof + Kaliber16 - Moon Synch
An audio/visual show with the composition from MimiCof's latest album "Moon Synch" and Kaliber16 translates the audio signal into abstract video.

Fia Fiell
Ethereal and unsettling keyboard synthesiser music that melds lush melodic cycles, ecstatic drones and free improvisation.

MimiCof is the solo project of Midori Hirano, in which she explores the realm of experimental composition sound and detailed rhythmic patterns, combined with an idea of drawing melodic shapes and harmonies. MimiCof has released two albums on PROGRESSIVE FOrM and an EP on her own, and performed at various festivals and events such as Club Transmediale(DE), Heroines of Sound Festival(DE), Rotterdam International Film Festival(NL), Boiler Room Berlin(DE) and L.E.V.Festival(ES). She also did remixes for Christopher Willits, Kid606, Liars, Sonae and many other artists. The third MimiCof album “Moon Synch” has been released on Alien Transistor label and is based on the recordings she has done with the Buchla analogue modular synthesizer during her residency at EMS Elektronmusikstudion in Stockholm. She joined the first series of the compilation “SICHTEN” which is curated by Frank Bretschneider, and will be released by raster on 21st of September 2018. http://midorihirano.com

Melbourne electronic/synth musician Fia Fiell, aka Carolyn Schofield, combines her profound practical and theoretical chops as a pianist and composer with a most modern and perceptive ear for stretching out the orbit of millennial electronic music constructs. With a practice based in improvisation, her live performances and recordings involve multiple synths played and processed in real time to create hauntingly ethereal, unsettling and subtly-shifting meditative soundscapes, built on nebulous chords and melodic cycles. Since 2016’s widely praised debut ‘A Hair, A Heap’ Schofield has cultivated deep renown in critical circles as a thrilling and sought after live performer with appearances at respected Australian festivals Dark Mofo (for Berlin Atonal), Inner Varnika and Freedom Time plus crucial support slots for Laurel Halo, Rashad Becker, Klein, Keith Fullerton Whitman and more. Her 2018 album ‘All In The Same Room’ is a meticulously crafted capsule of intimate melodic descriptions across a timeline of personal tumult, realisation and ultimately, growth, informed by a playful yet guarded sense of wonder. Swells and cycles in which time seems to slow often give way to sheer power throughout the arc of this release, while the artist herself encourages the listener toward an immersive higher volume experience than so-called 'ambient' music usually demands.
