Nicola Ratti (born in Milano in 1978) is a multi-faceted artist, sound designer and architect, active for years in various experimental fields. He has performed in Europe, North America and Russia, and his albums have been released by Anticipate, Preservation, Die Schachtel, Entr’acte, Where To Now?, Senufo Editions, Boomkat Editions, Holidays Records, Megaplomb, Musica Moderna, Boring Machines, Coriolis Sounds, and Zymogen. He is currently working with Giuseppe Ielasi (in the duo entitled Bellows) and Tilde (a trio with Enrico Malatesta and Attila Faravelli). He also collaborates with visual artists such as Nicola Martini, Alessandro Roma, Riccardo Arena, Ferruccio Ascari and Blisterzine/NastyNasty. He was the curator of The Variable Series from 2013 to 2014, a series of events concerning sound and performance hosted by O’ in Milano. Since 2015, he's been the curator of a series of sound-related events at Standards, an experimental sound research gallery located in Milano.
Mads Emil Nielsen is a composer based in Copenhagen. He works with basic sound sources such as sine waves and noise, which he often combines with short percussive and orchestral samples, and an amplification of the surprises and errors produced by the machines he uses. He recently founded the artistic platform Arbitrary. Nielsen has performed at Wundergrund Festival and - as support for Future 3 - in DR Koncerthuset Studie 2 (Cph. 2014), and contributed to various theatre / film productions and exhibitions, including the Notations 21 Project in the US and Europe.
