Hexorcismos - Tezcatl Tliltic Poctli
Tezcatlipoca is one of the four major deities from mexica mythology in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. It’s name comes from the nahuatl language and translates into: tezcatl ; black, tliltic; mirror, poca; smoke. It resided in heaven and earth, associated with bringing life to humans and was both invisible, strong and omnipresent.
Drawing parallels from black mirrors made of obsidian, used as divination tools by shamans in ancient mexica culture to our black mirrors: ubiquitous digital devices connected to one another using an quasi-omipresent and invisible network.
Tzcatl Tlitltic Poca is an indo-futurist ritual to disrupt colonial linear perception of historical time through the tension of prehispanic sound technologies and modern day digital machines. The sound produced from the precolumbian aerophone from the central México region is used to induce Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness (NOSC) to the public and performer which, in turn, are used as inputs by a Neurosky Mindwave Mobile brain-computer interface that further signify these sound-symbols in real-time, creating a feedback loop between echoes of ancient realities and current modernist digital ontologies.
Nikolas List is an American/Mexican producer and filmmaker currently based in Brussels. His approach draws on his cinematographic background and his conviction that there is beauty in every sound.

Moisés Horta Valenzuela (Tijuana, November 29 1988) is a sound artist, composer, electronic sound technologist and performer. Taking inspiration from the sociocultural border context of Tijuana while also being part of a generation exposed to the consumption of information via the Internet, the objective of his work is to express sonically the ways in which the human mind is transformed by it’s constant shift between the virtual and physical realms. His work is characterized by exploring the juxtaposition of dichotomies such as tradition and hypermodernity, dystopia and utopia, low resolution and high definition through the use of new technologies and electronic musical instruments, both software and hardware.
He studied a Bachelor in Science in Audio Production at the Art Institute of San Diego, California (2010). He has participated in a series of workshops that focus on the use of technologies for the creation of multimedia art: Potencial de Acción: Introduction to Neurofeedback (Alumnos 27 Foundation, 2015), Biofeedback workshop (Biblioteca Vasconcelos/Centro de Cultura Digital, 2014), Introduction to physical computing (Protolab, 2010).
