Simon Kanzler is a composer, vibraphonist and electronics artist based in New York and Berlin. He seeks to transcend boundaries by integrating multifarious idioms of music and other art forms within his work. His involvement in Berlin’s jazz and contemporary music scene, have led to projects working with a broad range of musicians including contemporary ensembles, jazz bands, improvisers, heavy metal and rock musicians. He has studied both contemporary composition with Mauro Lanza at the UdK Berlin and jazz vibraphone with David Friedman at the Jazz-Institute Berlin. His most recent band project Nodía Es combines a heavy metal band and a female vocal ensemble. The „hardcore opera“ project was recorded at the rbb studios Berlin in 2017, produced by Wolf Kampmann, and will soon be released on CD. His contemporary works have been performed by the ensemble mosaik and the modern art ensemble among others. He has released two albums with his long-term band Talking Hands which has toured throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland and performed at the Festival Jazzdor Berlin in 2015. His project Double Identity, which combines a jazz quintet and a chamber ensemble, was premiered at the Konzerthaus Berlin and a recording of the music was released on the Berlin-based label WhyPlayJazz. The project was funded by the ElsaNeumann Stipendium Berlin. Kanzler is also the founder of the KIM collective Berlin that organizes a yearly festival for experimental music, the KIM Fest.

Violinist Johnna Wu is an active performer and improviser in North America, Europe, and Asia. In 2015, she was the only artist awarded the Fulbright scholarship in 2015 to study in Germany, and was sponsored by the State Department of the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany. She obtained a Masters of Music from The Juilliard School and graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts with double degrees in Biology and Musicology, Improvisation has allowed her to fuse her strong interests in contemporary music, East-Asian folk music, jazz, tango, and musical theatre with classical music. She has appeared at the Lucerne Academy Festival, Opus XXI Sommer Akademie in Donaueschingen, Germany, the Yellow Barn Festival, and the Banff Summer Music Festival. She has collaborated with an eclectic range of artists including the Nueva Tango founder Pablo Ziegler, avant-garde jazz artists saxophonist Harri Sjöström and percussionist Tyshawn Sorey, with members of the International Contemporary Ensemble.

Liz Kosack is an artist and designer from Maine, USA working in Berlin and New York. Her work is cross-platform, but focuses around synthesizer playing and masks. She completed a Masters in music at Jazz Institut Berlin, where she studied composition with John Hollenbeck and Greg Cohen. She holds a BA in jazz piano from William Paterson University, USA. She was a finalist in music and sound for the New York Foundation for the Arts fellowship in 2013. She currently co-leads and is involved in multiple active projects in both Germany and the USA, released two LPs with "VAX" (The Sooner we Jump the Better, and Count to VAX) Is on RJ Miller's "Ronalds Rhythm," released a debut tape cassette with The Hero of Warchester in 2015 on Prom Night Records, Sunrise Over a Dystopic Future City's debut Dystopia (DVD collaboration with NYC filmaker Zach Caldwell, 2016) and expects to shortly release the resultant album of her masters project which features text-encoded melodic compositions and the talent of Frank Gratkowski, Tilo Weber, Dan Peter Sundland, Christian Tschuggnall, and Otis Sandsjö (selections of which were exhibited in fall 2014 at NYFA's "Estuary" exhibit in DUMBO, brooklyn.) Noteably this year she played the Moers festival with her band "The Liz" as Anubis in their piece "Book of Birds," collaborated with the Ballet im Revier, and in september gave her German professional debut on grand piano in a special version of RRR at the 30 Jahr Stadtgarten festival.

Dan Peter Sundland is a unique electric bass player and composer active in the jazz and improvising scenes in Norway and Berlin. His playing is set apart by his expressive, wide ranging playing techniques, including cello-like bowing and a varied palette of percussive colours. His discography includes compositional work for his own eleven-piece Elevenette, the Berlin based improvising quartet Home Stretch and sideman work with Clara Haberkamp's piano trio, Arne Torvik's fusion band Northwestern sounds and more. Dan Peter was born in Oslo, Norway, 15th July, 1986, and grew up in a village outside Trondheim, Norway called Børsa. He started playing bass at age 14, and studied with bass players Andreas Bergsland and Mattis Kleppen. He attended the jazz department of Sund Folk College 2005-06 and attained a bachelors degree in performing jazz at the jazz department of NTNU Music Institute in Trondheim in 2010.A European Jazz Masters degree (EUJAM) at the jazz department of NTNU Music Institute in Trondheim with exchange to Berlin Jazz Institute (Spring 2012) and Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in Copenhagen (Fall 2012) followed in 2013. Received Geir Digernes memorial award in 2012 and Sparebank1 Jazz Talent Award 2013. Nominated for ECHO Jazz Newcomer of the year 2017 with Clara Haberkamp trio. Has been featured with musicians including Jim Black, John Hollenbeck, Oli Steidle, Axel Dörner, Tobias Delius, Hans Hulbækmo, Hanna Paulsberg, Eirik Hegdal, John Pål Inderberg and Tor Haugerud.
