SCS #1

Community meeting

First Sonic Code Session: a place for discussing and exchanging ideas as well as presenting projects related to code-based audio synthesis - the technique of creating sound where individually designed computer programs determine the sonic output.  This includes topics related to electronic music, sound art, live coding but also ideas concerning the development of electronic instruments and more.

The first session will probably contain a presentation by the "generative arts" class (UdK Berlin) and a small introduction to SuperCollider (one of the available languages for code based synthesis).

The groups is open for the discussion of all kinds of technical questions (programming, hardware, ...) although it's not intended to be just a developer's meeting: all kinds of sound artists and tinkerers are welcome.

We will create an environment for sharing knowledge and ideas, for learning new subjects together and experimenting with awesome sounds. Our goal is to form a community that produces new ideas and collaborations, together with the other communities at Spektrum.
