SPEKTRUM communities present: Was Deferenz / SCS / Berlin Modular #467

SPEKTRUM communities present a special performance night with:

  • Was Deferenz - Human, not too Human
    Defined by the brisk evolution of computer technology, electronic sound and computer-manipulated video reduce what is essential and human - authenticity - the right to emotionally experience the human expression. Although having spent months generating sound and video content, if the artist simply pushes the button the audience feels like being betrayed: there is nothing genuine in the performance unless there is an authentic human expression.
    Human, Not Too Human is an audiovisual performance that investigates the question of what such an authentic human expression could be in the context of a live act. Is it a utopia, an obsolete concept in the digital age, or a contemporary “more human than human” quest?

  • Berlin Modular - Showcase performance
    The Berlin Modular group and its members both electronic and organic will take you on a sensory experience where the human guides the machine and the machine responds.

In addition, the Sonic Code Sessions community presents a participative sound installation that uses spectator´s smartphones to create a collaborative sound art experience. Users are invited to join the experience and play with their assigned sound role , creating an ocean of sound where everyone is part of the piece.

 

Through the SPEKTRUM community program, we connect different realities in the city to each other to explore a certain topic from different angles, with a focus on providing an artistic output. Since June 2015, different communities around topics such as olfactory art, live cinema, sonic coding, gaming, motion technology and digital fabrication have been set up at Spektrum, meeting up regularly to share ideas, exchange knowledge and create new projects together.
