Thanos Chrysakis

Thanos Chrysakis’ output consists of composition, performance, and installation. With several albums to his name, his work has appeared in festivals and events in several countries, including CYNETart Festival, Festspielhaus Hellerau (Dresden), Diapason Gallery (New York), Spazioersetti Gallery (Udine), Ohrenhoch - der Geräuschladen Gallery (Berlin Neukölln), Artus Contemporary Arts Studio (Budapest), CRUCE Gallery (Madrid), Fylkingen (Stockholm), Oosterkerk (Amsterdam), Relative (Cross) Hearings festival (Budapest), Futura 2013 (Drôme), Störung festival (Barcelona), Festival del Bosque GERMINAL (Mexico City), Västerås Konstmuseum (Västerås), BMIC Cutting Edge concert series - The Warehouse (London). He has recorded/performed with a number of improvisers including among others Wade Matthews, Ernesto Rodrigues, Chris Cundy, Abdul Moimême, Christian Kobi, Zsolt Sőrés, Christian Skjødt, Javier Pedreira and Yoni Silver. Since 2007 he runs the Aural Terrains label.

Guido Henneböhl

Guido Henneböhl plays unique electronic devices using self-built analog circuitry, often with parts of broken keyboards, toys or various electronic gadgets implanted into them. His work focuses on carefully provoked malfunctions in these circuits, constantly challenging the player to act in a field of tension between control and random events generated by the devices themselves - an approach, that questions the relationship of performers with their tool and asks them to interact with the circuit rather than just using it. Within this more complex constellation, the circuitry takes a substantial role in sound generation and composition.

Kris Limbach

Christoph “Kris” Limbach is a sound artist residing in Berlin. Limbach graduated in applied physics from Freie Universität Berlin, and his physical knowledge merges into his sound and art work. His emphasis is always on exploring sound and image in an experimental way. Although his focus is on sound, he is also involved in film projects since 1998, exploring constantly formats and aesthetics of cinema. In his sound art work he uses film-editing techniques, prepared drums, tape manipulation, no input mixing and a vast amount of raw and processed fieldrecordings. He released on labels such as Richard Garet's Contour Editions, Staaltape, Modisti, Framework Radio, Agxivatein and collaborated with artists like Pierce Warnecke, Hopek Quirin, Anton Mobin, Jochen Arbeit, Rinus van Alebeek, Miguel A. Garcia, Juan Antonio Nieto aka Pangea, Lisa Müller-Trede and more. He curates, together with Pierce Warnecke, the emitter micro label and emitter micro festival, a biennial experimental sound Festival in Berlin. He is part of the artist collective Aktuelle Architektur der Kultur (AADK).

The Liz

The Liz is an improvising, multimedia powerhouse trio with Liz Kosack - synths, Korhan Liz Erel - electronics, and Liz Allbee - amplified brass. They first played in December 2014 in the KIM series in Berlin. After their second performance, the three decided to produce a full-length audio-visual piece which made use of story-telling, video, puppetry, and stage design. With the support of INM Berlin they developed ‘Book of Birds’ and premiered it at Berlin’s Quiet Cue in April 2016, and shortly after performed the piece at the Moers Festival, Urban Acoustic Tribes, and KIMFEST. Meanwhile they continue to play improvised performances, and are currently working on a new stage production.
