VJ Open Lab offers Berlin VJ Community a monthly meeting for inspiration, experimentation, and exchanging of ideas and knowledge in the live video field. It is a collaborative platform without hierarchy that values joint efforts, partnership, and initiative.
VJ Open Lab is open to anyone interested in live visual arts and VJing. Beginners and visitors are also welcome to join.
Each meeting is divided into 3 parts:
1) Warm Up: 30 minutes to share ideas and news from the VJ network in Berlin and worldwide.
2) Trials-and-Errors: Presentations followed by a discussion round to answer questions and give a productive feedback.
This session is made for sharing and learning from each other.
3) Free play: a time-space to stimulate new ideas and extend possibilities for your pictures, your bodies, and your minds. No online application, no selection, no winners, anybody can participate.
The topic for this session is "Art cinema meets Generative art" with a live audio performance of Lød.
Letting go of all rules you were taught about music, Lød’s contemporary and experimental sound pushes and explores its boundaries, being electronic yet eclectic, with a heavily atmospheric and cinematographic signature.
The Colombian-born, now Berlin-based producer makes sure to avoid any defined genre by keeping a DIY attitude when producing and performing, to preserve the imperfection that gives his sound a human touch and edge.
