In our session we will explore expressive ways that light can be sculptured through convergence of light polarization and birefringent media using vintage liquid crystal technology. The presentation and workshop is based on Cere Davis' large scale project, Liquid Loom, an optokinetic interactive exhibit which bridges between digital art and material culture.

We will take a break from our series on the classical elements. This time we let us be inspired by the VJ Open Lab community whose first anniversary coincides with our session. We will explore visuals generated by phenomena in physics and other natural sciences.

Participants are encouraged to present suggestions and bring experiments!
